Charles Indelicato

Ithaca - Charles Indelicato died of natural causes on April 6, 2021 with his long term partner, Sally, by his side. Born February 27, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of Salvatore and Hildegard Indelicato, most recently of Ithaca, NY. Charles graduated from Ithaca High School, class of 1962, and went on to Hotel School at Paul Smith College. He had a variety of related jobs for several years, and in the early 70s opened a record store with his great friend Charles (Chuckie) Wells. They named the store Eddy St. Records, being a stone's throw from the "Eddy Gate". This was an iconic time in Ithaca. Many Cornell students and local town musicians hung out at the record shop, buying, playing, and listening to music. One such Cornell student was Huey Lewis, who sat in the store for hours on end listening to music. The record shop sponsored a softball team which became known as the infamous Eddy St. Truckers.

Charles was a great lover of nature, and of being on the water. He had boats on Cayuga Lake and also in the Bahamas. He was a long time member of the Ithaca Sail and Power Squadron, and hosted many Power Squadron parties on the family beach. He was a businessman and landlord in town for many years.

Charles retired and moved to Florida in 2019 to enjoy the warmth and the water. He is survived by his partner, Sally Sauer, his daughter Heather Indelicato of Des Moines, Iowa, his siblings Bianca Indelicato and Pamela (Phil) Hutchings, and his nephews Gabe (and family) and Luke Hutchings.
