Bruce Spaulding, age 73, of Raleigh, North Carolina died on July 25, 2017 from complications following a heart attack.



Bruce was born in Ithaca, New York to the late John Francis and Doris Marie Buchanan Spaulding.

His family was the greatest love of his life.



He was proud of his career in the U.S. Navy, and enjoyed volunteering at his grandchildren’s school. He loved to read and often got lost in his books.



Bruce graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1968. He later attended Johns Hopkins University and Catholic University and obtained Masters of Science in physics and engineering. He enjoyed a long career that included being a teacher, a sailor, and he retired as a combat systems engineer, though his favorite job was being a Grandpa.
