DR RODNEY DUANE RUDOLPH



Dr. Rodney Duane Rudolph, 63, of Weston, Florida, a part-time resident of Kinnelon, NJ, died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains, NJ.



Born in Oneonta, NY, he graduated from Ithaca High School and entered SUNY Delhi, majoring in Hotel Management. He later graduated with a Business Degree from Florida State University.



He then served in the Navy during the Vietnam Conflict, serving from 1968-1971. Rodney later earned his Master's Degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and later his Ph.D. from Cornell, where he studied Organizational Business.



Rodney was formerly an entrepreneur, owning and managing a contract food service company, Deru Management Services. In addition, he owned Taco Maker, which had 17 franchises on the East Coast.



He then became a Professor of Hospitality and Management at SUNY Delhi, and was an adjunct professor at both Ocean County Community College in Toms River, NJ, and Fairleigh Dickinson University, Atlantic City, NJ.



Lastly, Rodney was a passionate artist.



He is survived by his wife, Dr. Barbara McGill-Rudolph; his sister, Eileen and her husband, Dr. Jim Hicks; his nephews, Kevin Hicks and his wife, Vickie of Ithaca, NY, and Chris and his wife, Tammy of Washington; and his grandniece and nephew, Michelle and Robin Hicks.



Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, 781 Newark-Pompton Tpke. at Route 23, Pompton Plains, NJ. A funeral service will be held 4:30 p.m., Sunday during visiting hours. Cremation will be private.
