Dannie L. Conrad, 56, of Brooktondale, NY died peacefully at Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, NY on Sunday June 25, 2000 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Dannie was born, July 19, 1943 at Ithaca, NY to Lester and the late Norma Cortright Conrad. He was a graduate of Ithaca High School Class of 1962. Dannie was a retired Building Inspector for the City of Ithaca having retired after 32 years of service. He was an avid sportsman who loves all types of hunting, especially rabbit hunting with his faithful friend, his dog Willard. He was an avid trap shooter. He was an enthusiast for gun collecting and repair, his favorite being Ithaca Doublebarrels. He was an accomplished Musician for many years with local Country Bands. It was one of his greatest pleasures to play bass with his son and all of their friends. He will be truly missed by his family and many friends. His legacy and knowledge will be carried on and remember by all that knew him and he will be in their hearts forever.
Dannie is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Elaine M. (Holub) Conrad and his children, his son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey L. and Vicki Conrad and daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline M. and Gary Duke Travelli and his grandson, Brandon Woodmansee, all of Berkshire, NY. He is also survived by his father Lester (Ebb) and Linda Conrad of Zephyrhills, FL. He also has two sister, Sharon Conrad of Brooktondale and Pamela (Pammie) and Duane Austin of Slaterville, NY. He has many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 28, 2000 at the Caroline Center Church with Reverend Philip Jordan officiating. Friends may call at the church from 1-3:00 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Dannie's memory may be made to the National Rifle Association (NFA) or the American Cancer Society.
