WAITE, GARY WAYNE

St. Mary's, GA: Gary Wayne Waite, 66, passed away March 1, 2011, at his residence in St. Mary's, Georgia. He was born November 8, 1944, in Ithaca, NY, and was a 1962 graduate of Ithaca High School. He was a retired chief petty officer of 24 years with the United States Navy. He was an avid Jaguar and NASCAR fan and enjoyed spending summers locally at Spruce Row campground. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include a daughter, Heather Waite Hipchen (Lewis) of Brunsick, GA; a son, Clyde A. Wilson III (Paula) of Woodbine, GA; a brother Richard (Charlene) Waite of Trumansburg, NY, four grandchildren, Erica Wilson Crews, Mallory Wilson, and Henlie and Hudson Hipchen; a great-grandchild, Clayton Crews, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Jay and Mary Waite. A celebration of life was previously held in St. Mary's GA, and private inurnment will be held at a later date.
