Is it OK to tell other class members your e-mail and phone number?: yes
What have you been doing for the past 50 years?: Despite collecting more advanced degrees than you can shake a stick at, my career in academia was brief (12 years) and took me to a variety of institutions of higher learning. A dirth of jobs in art history made me turn to my second love, the cello and I have been teaching and performing for the last 16 years. In addition, I have been at the helm of a not-for-profit, surviving-on-a-shoe-string arts organization that presents informal chamber music concerts accompanied by educational commentary.

After a brief marriage to a fellow whose teaching jobs as an educational psychologist took us to beautiful mountain spots in the Blue Ridge and Sangre de Christo mountains, I came back to Ithaca to get my Ph.D, at Cornell in Modern Art. Here I met my husband of 29 years now, an architect and now retired professor of design at Cornell. We have the good fortune of living in the handsome house designed and built by him in a secluded spot on top of one of the many airy hilltops in the country outside of Ithaca. Here we have spent many blissful hours taming nature around our house and raising two good-natured kids. Daughter Jess graduated from Cornell, did an abbreviated tour in the Peace Corps in Suriname, is married to a sweet young man who teaches high school earth science. For the past 4 years Jess has worked in the education department at the Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell. She will be starting an MFA program at Cornell in the fall. Son Will just finished his sophomore year at the California College of Arts in Oakland/San Francisco where he is planning to major in furniture making. My artist father would have been pleased to see my kids following their bliss.

Robert Fabbricatore

Marital status: Single
Occupation: Retired from New York State Government
What have you been doing for the past 50 years?: After high school, I joined 63 classmates and went to Cornell. The plan to become a veterinarian (was this my idea?)was derailed by my preference for college athletics, social life and an exceptionally nasty Chemistry exam that is still talked about. Plan B kicked in and I graduated with a degree in Government which INSTANTLY qualified me for Army duty. This led to a stint on the DMZ in Viet Nam with the Combat Engineers with my main accomplishment being named "Chief Thief" by the Battalion Commander. After the Army, I went to Albany and worked in state agencies until I retired in December 2002 and moved to Florida. I'll save all the lies for the Reunion.
Comments: I was in Ithaca in June 2006 for a Cornell reunion and it rained all week and it was 38 degrees. Non-Ithacans call that weather "Ithacating."
